Thomas J. O’Beirne & Co., Inc was incorporated in the State of New Jersey in July of 1983. We began business in the basement of Tom O’Beirne’s mother’s house in West Caldwell, NJ. In 1987, we moved to a rented office in Roseland, NJ, and in 1988 we purchased our yard at 10 Steel Court, Roseland, NJ, which still serves the company today. As time went on, we acquired additional business properties, including our present office located at 37 Woodland Road, Roseland, NJ. At this time, our contiguous holdings in the area exceed 10 acres, much of which is rented out to various companies, among them Verizon. We presently employ 22 persons.
Initially, the business of Thomas J. O’Beirne & Co., Inc. was small general contracting projects specializing is sidewalks, curbs, light excavation, footings and foundations. As time went on, we expanded to meet the needs of our customers. We began performing building alteration and construction projects ranging from light renovations to building additions. In addition, we engaged in a large number of environmental projects including total site remediation, tank installations, tank removal, oil water separators, waste disposal, manhole cleaning and spill cleanups In the late 1980’s, we purchased the assets of a commercial plumbing company, obtained a New Jersey Master Plumbers License, and began offering plumbing services to our customers. Ten years ago, we purchased Picciuto Paving, which I operate as a separate asphalt paving company.
